It can be confusing to understand Avowed's release strategy, including whether it'll be on Game Pass on day one of its release. Developed by Obsidian Entertainment, developers of The Outer Worlds, Knights of the Old Republic 2 and Fallout: New Vegas, Avowed is set in the same universe as the critically acclaimed Pillars of Eternity series of RPGs. But unlike Pillars, which are isometric, real-time tactical RPGs, Avowed is a first- and third-person action RPG. Avowed is a highly anticipated game, with many players seeing it as a substitute for the long-dormant Elder Scrolls 6.
