This could be huge for backward compatible Xbox games. Backward compatible games on Xbox may be getting a major upgrade with the next-gen Xbox console. The next Xbox console — based on leaked Microsoft documents — is expected to release sometime in 2028. And based on a new patent, it is going to release alongside a new Xbox controller set to close the gap between the current Xbox controller and the PS5 DualSense controller. According to the patent, one way Microsoft is set to close the gap is with the implementation of haptic feedback, something the PS5 DualSense controller makes great use of unlike the current Xbox controller.
