PlayStation to Adapt Horizon and Helldivers to Film; The Last of Us TV Season 2 Launches in April
PlayStation Productions, Sony's division created in May 2019 specifically to adapt PlayStation IPs to film and TV formats, has made a slew of announcements today. As you probably remember, Guerrilla's Horizon franchise was supposed to be turned into a TV series to be streamed on Netflix. That project turned into dust following the scandal that involved the showrunner, but Horizon fans can rest assured that PlayStation Productions has now partnered with Columbia Pictures to work on a film adaptation instead. The news came during Sony's CES 2025 hour-long presentation. No further details were shared at this time, and it may be a long while before the film debuts in theaters since it is said to be in the early stages of development. To be honest, the TV format might have been a better fit for Horizon, but we'll take this anyway.
